🏃🏃🏃中山醫學大學學生2024年赴美國路易斯州立大學醫學中心研究獎學金說明

1.本項研究獎學金將提供中山醫學大學研究生學生，赴該醫學中心(美國路易斯安那州紐奧良市) 進行實驗室研究工作訪問，為期一年(每年八月至隔年七月)。
2.名額：每年依實際情況，決定提供名額。
(將於2024年八月選送一名，符合條件有興趣者可提早預作準備)
3.申請資格：
a.具有中山醫學大學正式學籍之博碩士研究生。
b.對實驗室研究工作有強烈興趣，並具備一定的分子生物學實驗技術訓練者。
c.具備一定的英文能力。 (英文能力判斷，將由與對方以視訊面談確認)。
4.有興趣申請本研究獎學金者，請向本校國際事務處提出，申請資料應包含下列幾項：
a.修課成績單(第一年研究生得免)。
b.兩封推薦信，其中一封必須來自論文指導教授。
c.個人的自傳(其中請包括個人的簡歷介紹、研究興趣、未來的生涯規劃、以及申請本獎學金的理由)。
d.以上文件，請以英文形式書寫，並繳交國際事務處。國際事務處會按申請人相關資格等，先進行初選。初選結果將轉交該醫學中心，進行進一步審閱，及安排候選學生進行線上面試。
5.報名截止日期：即日起至112年11月24日(五)截止。
6.獎學金金額：獲選學生赴該中心進行研究工作，每個月將獲得2,500美元的生活補助。
7.獲獎學生，若符合本校學海計畫申請資格者，得向國際事務處洽商，以申請學海計畫交通費用補助。
8.簽證：路易斯州立大學醫學院相關單位，將會核發邀請函獲獎者赴美邀請，以利申請赴美J簽證所需。

The research scholarship opportunity at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC)
1. Duration: The program will run for one year (starting from August and concluding in July of the following year).
2. Number of Scholarships: one (in 2024)
3. Qualifications:
a. 1st year of graduate students or higher.
b. Possessing a strong foundation in scientific training and lab skills (including certain molecular biology skills).
c. English language proficiency*
* Will be evaluated through a zoom-interview process.
4. Application: Individuals interested in applying for the scholarship should submit their applications to the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Chung Shan Medical University. The application package must include the following documents:
a. Transcripts of the major course works from their current graduate programs.
b. Recommendation letters: Applicants are required to provide at least 2 recommendation letters, one of which must be from their thesis advisor. These letters should be submitted to the OIA office before the specified deadline.
c. Personal statement: Applicants should include a personal statement detailing their academic and research background, career goals, and reasons for applying for the scholarship.
d. The OIA will conduct initial interviews with the applicants. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to a zoom interview with their prospective U.S. mentor.

6. Financial support: Qualified students will receive financial support with a stipend approximately US $2,500 per month.
7. Prospective students who receive an acceptance from LSUHSC before the end of December will be eligible to apply for additional CSMU travel funds. These travel funds are intended to support the students' trip to New Orleans. However, it is important to note that the availability of the travel funds will be subject to availability and other relevant factors.
8. Visa status: LSUHSC will issue an invitation letter for students to obtain a J-visa and needed documentation for appointment at LSUHSC and financial support to get the visa.
