今年 8 月 21 日至 25 日赴奧地利維也納參加 AMEE 國際醫學教育大會，並藉此機會拜訪維也納醫科大學牙醫學院，與多年未見的老朋友 Professor Reinhard Gruber 見面。

AMEE 是全球重要的醫學教育會議，雖然過去牙醫界參與較少，但醫學與牙醫教育在教學方法、課程設計、臨床能力評估及培養學生獨立思考等方面，有許多值得相互學習之處。

此次參與不僅拓展了對國際醫學教育的認識，也讓我重新思考牙醫教育的發展。除了重視臨床技術訓練，更應培養學生的臨床判斷、獨立思考及持續學習能力。

建議學會未來能鼓勵更多教師參與 AMEE 等國際跨領域學術會議，藉由交流不同領域的教育理念與經驗，拓展視野，為牙醫教育帶來更多創新與啟發。

From August 21 to 25 this year, I traveled to Vienna, Austria, to attend the AMEE International Conference on Medical Education. I also took the opportunity to visit the School of Dentistry at the Medical University of Vienna and reconnect with my longtime friend, Professor Reinhard Gruber.

AMEE is one of the world's leading conferences in medical education. Although relatively few dental professionals have participated in the past, medical and dental education share many areas for mutual learning, including teaching methods, curriculum design, clinical competency assessment, and the development of students' independent thinking skills.

This experience broadened my understanding of international medical education and prompted me to reflect on the future of dental education. In addition to clinical and technical training, it is equally important to develop students' clinical judgment, independent thinking, and lifelong learning abilities.

I encourage the association to motivate more faculty members to participate in international interdisciplinary conferences such as AMEE. By exchanging educational ideas and experiences across different fields, faculty members can broaden their perspectives and gain new insights to inspire innovation in dental education.
