I. Key Activities and Objectives

To broaden the international perspectives of faculty members and students, enhance the university’s international visibility, and share academic research findings through oral presentations and discussion sessions, thereby strengthening academic engagement between the two institutions.

II. Highlights and Implementation

This event was jointly organized at the invitation of the Department of Ophthalmology and the Center for Research and Incubation at Keio University. It aimed to establish more direct channels of communication between faculty members and students of Chung Shan Medical University and Keio University, paving the way for substantive future collaboration. In addition, visits to companies such as Kemin and Selista helped strengthen the connection between academic research and practical industrial applications, opening up further opportunities for industry–academia collaboration.

A key feature of this event was the establishment of substantive collaborative relationships. Academic engagement was promoted through a collaborative research proposal presented by Professor Pei-Cheng Lin from the Department of Medical Laboratory and Biotechnology, as well as undergraduate students’ oral presentations of their research projects.

An online meeting has been scheduled for early November. Professor Kazuo Tsubota of Keio University has invited several professors and graduate students to participate. Chung Shan Medical University plans to send three faculty members, one physician, and several graduate and undergraduate students to join the discussion and further advance future collaboration.
